Policies

1. Membership

In order to become a member of the Medical Consulting Group, you must fill out a member application provided on the website. Once submitted, your application will be reviewed by the committee for conflicts within the current membership. You will be informed by email of your acceptance/denial within 2 weeks.

2. Attendance

Attendance to the meetings are very important. We meet every other Friday, and the meetings are located on our calendar. If a company as a whole, misses 3 consecutive meetings, they will be asked to relinquish their seat. This is to insure good attendance, which in turn, will facilitate more referrals.

3. Conflicts with other Business in the group

Occasionally, we find that a business in the group is a direct competitor with an existing member of the group. If this happens, we will discuss it with both parties and if it is deemed to be a direct competition in obtaining referrals, we will ask that the member wanting to join the group be put on our waiting list for the next available opening for that seat.

4. Losing your job

If you lose your job, we still see you as a valued member of our group. You are more than welcome to attend the meetings, and try to network amongst the other businesses to try to seek employment. If you were not an existing member of the group, you are welcome to come as a guest one time to shop your resume to the existing members of the group.

5. Relinquishing your seat

If you cannot attend the meetings, or give an appropriate number of referrals, we would kindly ask that you relinquish your seat, and be placed on the waiting list for the next available opening. We value the commitments made to the group and understand that there are times where conducting business can get in the way of these meetings. You will still be entitled to various social events that are put on by the group.

6. Conduct detrimental to the group

If it is decided that you are exhibiting behavior that is considered detrimental to the group, the Board members will ask you to relinquish your seat, and you will not be placed on the waiting list, or invited to any of the social functions.

7. Speakers

Every business in the group is encouraged to speak at one of the luncheon meetings. This is a great opportunity for other businesses in the group to understand the services you provide so they can give you as many referrals as possible. Without understanding your business, it is hard to pass a referral, which could result in lost opportunities for you.

8. Advertising the group

Because this group is a very minimal cost, it is expected that each member publicize the group within its business community. In addition, we encourage all members to talk about the group to their clients, business prospects, and business associates. The larger the group, the more chance of referrals.Each year, the AMCG puts together a brochure of its current members, with a small blurb about their business. This directory is paid for by the small amount of dues we pay each year.

9. Dues and Finances

Dues for the AMCG are $60 per year, or $5 per month. For example, if you join the group in February, your dues would be $55. If you join in June, your dues would be $30.
